Northamptonshire Community Foundation
Northamptonshire Community Foundation (NCF) is the leading grant-making charity in the county, working with our fund holders and donors to award grants of over £1 million annually.
The organisation supports projects that make a sustainable impact on local needs, helping our donors make the most of their charitable giving.
NCF delivers a variety of funding to the local voluntary and community sectors and is dedicated to supporting community-based action, thereby improving the lives of the most disadvantaged people and communities in our county.
NCF is one of 46 Community Foundations across the UK, playing a leading role in the development of community philanthropy and resources to sustain communities. Child poverty, unemployment, homelessness, domestic violence and social isolation are just some of the issues they strive to tackle each year.
The Foundation’s vision is to create a culture of giving that strengthens and supports the local community. They work with a variety of fund holders, donors and businesses county-wide and beyond to meet this vision. Examples include the London Marathon Charitable Trust; whose recently established fund provides grants to inspire active living across South Northamptonshire and Aylesbury Vale and AVON Cosmetics, whose fund supports projects across Northamptonshire to improve the quality of life for women and girls.
In March 2018, NCF worked alongside the University of Northampton’s Institute for Social Innovation and Impact to deliver the first Hidden Needs report, highlighting the priority needs within the county. The report revealed notable social inequalities, particularly relating to health and wellbeing and education and skills. By assessing Northamptonshire’s Hidden Needs, NCF aims to work with donors to address the social issues that require the most urgent attention.
